The Tempo Test Rekenen is an assessment tool for arithmetic fluency in the four operations. The aim of this study is to establish first normative data for this test in the 8-9-year-old Quebec-French population. Children, 8-9-year-old and schooled in 3rd year of primary school were administered the TTR (n = 77). Normative data are produced and the results show that gender, age, laterality, and socioeconomic level do not influence mathematical performances of children of the study. Furthermore, Quebec children get lower performances than Dutch children on the TTR. Finally, this study allows identifying 3.9 % of Quebec children with arithmetical difficulties. The development of culture-specific norms for the French-Quebec children population will be very useful for the assessment of arithmetical skills and the identification of children with arithmetical difficulty.
